We stayed for a month over Christmas and had a wonderful time. Catherine was a great, trustworthy host. She was quick to respond to any questions before and during our stay and even decorated the house with Christmas decorations and left Christmas activities and treats for our kids. The house was extremely clean, lovely and warm (with underfloor heating in the kitchen) and very well equipped for a long stay. We stayed with our 2 young children and found it to be a very family friendly house. Our children loved the kids room which included lots of fun toys and books for various ages. The sauna seemed brand new and was a great bonus on a cold winter night! We would definitely recommend the Whitley Bay Hideaway and we can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Brilliant stay here! The house was very clean and spacious with everything we needed for our stay. The location was good, with a short walk to the sea front and some great places to eat. We travelled with our 10 month old daughter and it was great to have a high chair and travel cot provided. It was also really useful being able to watch quick YouTube tutorials for the coffee machine. Would definitely stay again!

Myself and my 9 year old son stayed here due to having a flood at our own house. ( I've only just got around to writing the review now due to the mountains of boxes that needed unpacking!)

The house had just been renovated and was brand new to the market it was also literally a few minutes down the road from where we lived so was perfect!
Catherine as a host is just so lovely! Nothing is too much bother and she really goes out of her way to make sure you are happy.
The house has a drive for parking
and is in a quiet street (i got to know some of the neighbours and they were all very nice!) two mins walk from the seafront. Whichever direction you decide to go there are lovely cafes restaurants, shops and 4 sandy beaches all within around a 20 min walk.
The house itself was lovely, spotlessly clean , cosy but also spacious. We had Christmas here and managed to have 8 family members around no problem.
Catherine has decorated throughout the house in a nautical theme which is very tasteful. The beds in the two double bedrooms were so comfortable (we didn’t use the bunkbeds but i imagine they are just as nice!) and the kitchen is fully equipped. There was also the essentials such as tea ,coffee, milk (sangria!) etc already there for you which was great. There is a utility room with a downstairs toilet/washer/dryer. This was very useful with a child and for storing bikes etc. Catherine has also made sure there are lots of books, Dvd’s and games of all age ranges which is a nice touch.
Outside in the back there is an infrared sauna which i managed to use a few times and was amazing! There are lots of other great things i could could say about the place but basically what was a pretty stressful 6 months was made so much easier and enjoyable by staying here! Ive already said but Catherine was so lovely and so accommodating and the house well i felt quite sad leaving it as it really did feel like a home from home! I would highly recommend a stay here! X

We have loved staying at Whitley Bay Hideaway for a total of 7 days. We had travelled from Portugal to look at this wonderful part of the country and we were not disappointed. It’s a cosy little gem tucked away only a stones throw from the beach front. Catherine the host and owner did absolutely everything to make our stay welcoming and enjoyable. The property is presented beautifully with a nautical theme. Everything you need during your stay is in place and even down to a welcome pack for breakfast, not to mention a carton of Sangria in the fridge!
The beds were very comfortable and even though we are just a retired couple it’s a great place to stay with a young family.
We would certainly recommend this lovely holiday home for short and long breaks. Being able to park on the drive is also a bonus.
We wish Cathrine much success in her new venture for the future.
